A DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS STYLE "TIME OUT"...

“The unanswered emails/voicemails/text messages are so NOT my style. SIDE OF STYLE only stops when a family emergency arises. I am currently prepping one of the hardest wardrobe pulls I've encountered thus far-for a close relative that passed away Christmas morning. I ask you to pray for me and my family...and give all praises to the MOST HIGH! SIDE OF STYLE and DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS STYLE will return to norm after the New Year. Thanks for your SUPPORT and PATIENCE. I truly appreciate it!”---Key

THE HOUSTON SOCIALITE...

One thing I heart about fashion/style is there's so many levels to love, know, and try. As you grow your style should do the same...if you're in your 40s/50s it's okay to want to wear a hot outfit you seen on Rihanna but what about Michelle Obama? She make the "40s" look so classic and chic...she's a grown up for real! Those levels and divisions of fashion/style...they give me something to look forward to!
Which brings me to the lady I want to be like when I grow up...Houston's own Lynn Wyatt. You see all that high fashion below? I'm in awe everytime I come across a photo of Mrs. Lynn at an event. If  you never heard of her please see an excerpt below from her Wiki page. Yes indeed...Mrs. Lynn and her "I'M A GROWN A#% WOMAN" style gives me something to look forward to!

"Lynn Sakowitz Wyatt (born July 16, 1935) is the daughter of the late Bernard Sakowitz and Ann Baum as well as the sister of Robert T. Sakowitz. A well known Houston socialite, philanthropist and third-generation Texan. Her grandfather started the Sakowitz Department Store chain. Her husband, Oscar Wyatt, is an energy executive, the founder of Houston's Coastal Corporation—now owned by El Paso Corporation—and current CEO of NuCoastal LLC. Lynn and Oscar Wyatt have four sons [Douglas, Steve, Trey and Brad]. The couple resides in the Houston neighborhood of River Oaks. During the height of the oil boom in the 1970s and early 1980s, the family mansion in Houston was known as the "Wyatt Hyatt" becoming a "home away from home" for the likes of HRH Princess Margaret, HSH Princess Grace of Monaco, Bill Blass, Joan Collins, Mick Jagger, His Majesty King Hussein and Queen Noor of Jordan.

Lynn Wyatt has appeared in American Vogue (magazine), Harper's Bazaar, Town & Country and W (the high-fashion/social magazine of Fairchild Publications) through the years. She is a friend and patron of some of the couturiers of our time and of the twentieth century – Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld, Emanuel Ungaro, Bill Blass, Jean Paul Gaultier and many others. She was inducted into the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1977."

THE HOUSTON ACCESSORY DESIGNER...

What I like most about "current times" is that FEMALES are making their moves, marks, and way-now more than ever! We're working 8 to 5's, holding down motherhood/sisterhood, households, and up keeping businesses on the side (We all know there's 24 hours in a day so you do the math!). I was excited to find out a former classmate was getting her style grind on...meet Houstonian KYNA BLUE, an accessory designer or should I say an "ACCESSORY ARTIST"! Her earrings, clutches, and belts will surely give the plainest outfit a pop of personal style! I salute you Mrs. Kyna; stay encouraged and keep your line alive!
Kyna Blue's line can be purchased at Xpozher Accessories and Home, 3005 West Loop South, Suite 235, 2nd Level-Houston, TX 77027-713.539.8466

Kyna Blue and, owner of Xpozher Accessories and Home, Yolanda Green...keep grinding ladies!!!

THE DALLAS JEWELRY DESIGNER...

Professionalism = A refreshing slap in the face these days
Refreshing to witness but it hits you hard and off guard because it's so rare...well at least from what I see day to day it is. This past weekend I was fighting off what seemed to be a cold or flu bug and I barely made it to a computer. But when I did an email from Dallas's Leslie Chatman, owner/designer of LunaTeal, was so worth me dragging myself onto the computer! The email not only oozed professionalism but it also led me to Leslie's handmade goodies (Third photo...you see the bracelets? The gold one is calling my name LOL). There's nothing like a timeless CLASSIC accessory, and Leslie if timeless/classic was your aim the only place left to go is up from here (Stay encouraged and keep the goods coming)!

THAT HOUSTON INSPIRATION...

Back in September I did a write up about TOM FORD'S top secret Fashion Week Spring 2011 Runway Show (Click here to read: The Austin Creative Director/Fashion Designer ). Well photos of that runway show, which included-as Tom put it-THE WORLD'S MOST INSPIRATIONAL WOMEN, were recently released. And yall know HOUSTON'S OWN made the cut...and as fierce as always might I add! ;-)
