A WORD FROM: A HOUSTON WARDROBE STYLIST...

A word (or two) from SIDE OF STYLE's Wardrobe Stylist: I'll never forget a conversation with one of my clients...she told me she referred a chic to SIDE OF STYLE and the chic was a bit nervous to contact me because she assumed I would style her the way I style myself...NEVER (unless you're into THAT lol)!!! Although I keep my day job attire real plain jane (Clark Kent by day, SuperWOman when I clock out), outside of that I tend to go from a classic look with a touch of weird to extreme WTH (It may seem like I exaggerated with the WTH but I'm from and live in Texas...okay...)! It depends on how I'm feeling...but I THANK the ones that have complimented the way I style myself...and I nod my head to the nay sayers, opinions are cool. I can't imagine caring about someone nay saying ANYTHING I have on...not even a drop of care to that subject exist in me...ask my mama (she cringes at some of the pieces I mix LOL)! In bright lights: DO NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT A NAY SAYER HAS TO SAY..."DO YOU" IS SO OVERUSED BUT BY ALL MEANS DO YOU! I tend to stress that in other forms to the youth girls I mentor (Praying that it sticks with them!), not to get off subject though...STAY FAR FROM AVERAGE!

So that you have a visual here's a couple shots of me trying on some recent purchases: Military jackets, silk skirt (I forgot I had, found it in the back of my closet...SMH), black (hide the eyebrow) sunglasses, African shrug, crest pin and navy/green school boy plaid dress shirt (tied on waist in last photo). Playing dress up in therapeutic right ladies?
;-)
